Amherst Benonia Wickline (1866-1945) was born in Sweet Springs, West Virginia to John E. Wickline and Margaret Miller. Amherst married Ida May Walker (1872-1960) in 1899. They moved to Fluvanna County in the early 1900s, then to Albemarle County by 1920. Amherst lived the last 15 years of his life in Charlottesville on Belmont Avenue. He died in 1945 and was buried in Riverview Cemetery in Charlottesville.
