Biographical/Historical Information

Fauntleroy was a colonial planter living along the Rappahannock River in Lancaster County.

Scope and Content

This manuscript consists of Colonel William Fauntleroy's record of letters to his agents and merchants in London, Glasgow, Whithaven, Liverpool and Bristol from 1738 to 1763 along with other plantation information. Included are 225 letters, lists of his slaves, and the number of acres he owned. The vellum covered volume contains 230 pages, a few of which are separated from the book itself.
