Biographical/Historical Information

The licensing Board was created by the General Assembly in 1993 to oversee the asbestos licensing regulations. It was expanded in 1994 to include lead-based paint activities licensing, and again in 2001 to include home inspector certification. The Board is composed of ten members and required by statute to meet quarterly. The Board's duties include promulgating asbestos licensing and lead-based paint activities licensing regulations, establishing criteria for training courses, asbestos laboratories, and setting general policy statndards.
