Biographical Note
Minnie Lee Ryan was born August 14, 1904, in Albemarle County, Virginia, to William Lee and Josephine Adelaide (Cox) Ryan. Minnie graduated from Blacksburg High School in 1922, and she later married Glenn Wilburn Harkins. She died on August 26, 1990, in Staunton, Virginia.
Scope and Content
The Minnie Lee Ryan Collection contains a scrapbook page with a newspaper clipping and a letter and envelope for Minnie Lee Ryan. On Virginia Polytechnic Insitute letterhead, the May 28, 1922, letter is from "Jack " to Minnie Lee Ryan about their relationship. The newspaper clipping entitled "Blacksburg High School Graduates " lists Minnie Ryan, amongst others, and is dated 1922.
