A version of a dining hall for U.S. Representatives has been in existence in the United States Capitol Building since 1834. The House Restaurant, also known as the Members' Dining Room, has offerred refreshments to elected officials in a variety of forms over the years. Today the Members' Dining Room is located in Room H117 of the Capitol Building.
A bifolium menu from the United States House of Representatives Restaurant, dated May 10, 1935. The cover includes a line drawing of the Capitol Building with a decorative design around the text "House of Representative Restaurant/ Menu/ United States Capitol[.]" The United States seal is in the center. The menu includes many dining options, including daily specials, seafood dishes, sandwiches, salads, dessert, and beverages.
