This collection consists of a single photographic album compiled by an unidentified German soldier during World War II. The album was found in Aachen, Germany during the post-war occupation. Comprising 52 pages, the album contains 279 small-format snapshots of wartime scenes. Numbered but unidentified, the photographs portray scenes in Budapest, Slovakia, Russia, and probably elsewhere in eastern Europe. Included are photographs of soldiers (mostly at leisure), civilians, armament, vehicles, scenery, and ruins. Given the large number of photographs of trucks, particularly one marked "Verpfl. Wagen" that appears repeatedly, the compiler of the album may have been a driver for the army catering service.
