Biographical / Historical
Mail Pouch Tobacco was a product of the Bloch Brothers Tobacco Company of Wheeling, West Virginia.
In April 1908 Henry M. Russell of Wheeling, West Virginia, represented Bloch Brothers' Tobacco Company before the Ways and Means Committee of the United States Congress in hearings regarding "Tax on Tobacco Coupons"; he referenced the product "Mail Pouch Tobacco" in his statement.

Facsimile copy of issue of rare promotional newspaper "West Virginia Mail Pouch", Wheeling Edition, Volume 3, Number 2, 1898. Mail Pouch Tobacco was a product of the Bloch Brothers Tobacco Company of Wheeling, West Virginia. Includes a combination of an illustrated listing of promotional gifts that can be obtained through redeeming mail pouch tobacco coupons along with miscellaneous entertaining information.
Promotional gifts listed include:
curling iron,
ladies' breast pin,
razors,
french briar pipe,
ladies' and gentlemen's pocket books,
bicycle locks,
watches,
books,
clock,
silver ware,
tea pot,
shears and scissors,
and other items.
Topics of miscellaneous information include:
