Abstract
Resume (2 pages) and personal memoir (18 pages) of Louis George Sarris, a West Virginian from Wheeling who worked for the
U.S. State Department, serving as Chief of the Southeast Division during the Vietnam War era. The memoir discusses his family's
immigrant roots in Greece and their life in America (ca. 1920 to 2000), including his father's work as a coal miner in West
Virginia. It also touches on the career of Louis George Sarris.
