Scope and Contents

Collection includes scans of the contents of two scrapbooks featuring Matthew Zervos of Moundsville, West Virginia, who served as WVU's Mountaineer mascot in the 1986-1987 school year. Scrapbook content includes mostly photos of Zervos dressed as the Mountaineer and carrying out the mascot's public duties. Also included are a letter from then-State Treasurer A. James Manchin, a written statement by Zervos about his time as Mountaineer, and programs and ephemera from Mountaineer mascot reunions. Also included are scans of Zervos and others at the demolition of Mountaineer Stadium.
