Abstract
A symposium at Jackson's Mill sponsored and conducted by the WVU Office of International Programs. The conference was aimed
at removing social inhibitions and promoting significant interaction between white, black and international students attending
colleges in West Virginia. The three day event consisted of sessions devoted to guest speakers and group discussions about
the then current state of racial tensions in the United States and how to alleviate them. Included are participant reactions
which were generally favorable towards the conference as an initial step to ending racism in society.
