Abstract
A slide-tape presentation of the history of the United Mine Workers of America, produced by the staff of the United Mine Workers
Journal, entitled "Proud To Be A Miner". The program deals both with the historical problems that lead to the founding of
the union and its early struggles as well as the more recent rank and file movements such as the Miners for Democracy, Black
Lung Association, and the wildcat strikes of 1972-76. This collection comprises a set of transparencies, one cassette tape,
and a typescript of narration.
