Content Description

This collection includes two documents. One is a four-page handwritten manuscript, "The Old Furnace" by C.O. Marsh, printed originally in the The Barbour Democrat on November 11, 1956. This manuscript also includes information on the the John M. Marsh, b. 1827 family. The second document is an "Excursion Souvenir," a four-page pamphlet printed for the West Virginia Academy of Science Meeting at Philippi, April 25-26, 1941 and contains articles on "The Old Iron Furnace Close Nestorville," copied from Maxwell's History of Barbour County ; "The Old Mill (Righman's Mill);" and "The Importance of Mills" copied from Old Grist Mills of Harrison County .
