The processing, arrangement, and description of the Wabash Railway Timetables commenced and was completed in October 2010.
The Wabash Railway Company was formed in 1915 through a reorganization of the Wabash Railroad Company, itself a product of an 1889 reorganization of predecessor lines. The railroad served the upper mid-central United States, with primary connections in Kansas City, St. Louis, Chicago, Detroit, Toledo and Buffalo. In 1942, the company's name reverted to the Wabash Railroad Company. In 1960, the line was leased by the Norfolk & Wetern Railway and eventually purchased by Norfolk Southern in 1991.
This collection contains two timetables issued by the Wabash Railway in the 1930s. In addition to lists of stations, routes, arrival and departure times, the timetables include names of officials, system maps, and advertising matter.
The collection is arranged chronologically.
