Scope and Content
There are 144 items, 1963-1991, pertaining to the
Thomas Jefferson Chapter of the Sons of the American
Revolution . Included are correspondence, memoranda,
and business and other papers. Papers, 1988-1991, of
Harvey Jordan Hague pertain to the
Virginia Society of the Sons of the American
Revolution (VASSAR) Annual Law Enforcement
Commendation Medal, membership of the Richmond Chapter (26 Jan
1990), former VASSAR President
Carroll Wright (22 Feb 1990); and the
VASSAR Law Enforcement Award Program (Aug 1990 -Dec 1991).
There is information on the 1988 Commendation Medal awarded to
Charlottesville Police Chief
John deK. Bowen and on the 1989 nominees
for the honor. Correspondence and papers, 1963-1974, of
Thomas Page Nelson pertain to the Virginia
Society of the Sons of the American Revolution business,
membership dues, the Thomas Jefferson Chapter receipt of the
Ailleen Groves Outstanding Chapter Award (2 July 1973),
membership certificates for the TJ Chapter, presentation of
the Good Citizenship Award to
Cecile Haisten , and the annual board
meeting. There is a brief history of the VASSAR, ca. 1968,
