The Fishback family resided near The Plains in Fauquier County, Virginia, and were engaged in the sale of general merchandise and the operaration of a blacksmith shop. The volume contains entries made by Nelson N. Fishback (ca. 1778-1823) and his sons Josiah T. (b. 1819) and John N. Fishback (1823-1871). Entries made by John N. Fishback, Jr. (1871-1911) also appear. For additional information concerning the family, consult Willis M. Ledger includes entries by members of the Fishback family of Fauquier County, Virginia, concerning sales of general merchandise, and charges for blacksmith work performed (1859-1866). Also contains accounts relating to a farm (1868-1896); an employment agreement and family records (1814-1895); and slave records (1810-1823). Partly indexed.
