Amos Scott was born in 1807 and farmed a 12000 acre estate in Port Republic, Rockingham County, Virginia. He married Agnes Ann Palmer (1807-1862) of King William County, Virginia on 24 Oct. 1848 in Rockingham County. Together they had four children. He died in Port Republic on 1 Nov. 1889.
