Nathaniel Watlington (d. 1816) was a prominent citizen of Gloucester County, Virginia. He had two sons by his first marriage, Nathaniel and Armistead Watlington. Nathaniel Sr. and his second wife, Massey Watlington, had five children: Paul, Clever, Isabella, Sterling and Charlotte. Paul Watlington (d. 1840) and his wife, Frances Sarah Watlington, had at least one son, Thomas R. Watlington, who lived in King William County, Virginia. Isabella Watlington married Rowland Finch.
Papers, 1811-1862, of the Watlington family of Gloucester County, Virginia, consisting mainly of receipts, accounts, correspondence, promissory notes, tax receipts, court receipts, court records, plats, purchase orders, inventories, sales lists, receipts for slave hires, and subscriptions. This material concerns mostly Paul Watlington (d. 1840) and his wife, Frances Sarah Watlington.
