Henry Corbin [Corbyn] was born in England in 1629 and emigrated to Virginia by 1654. He settled in Lancaster County, Virginia, and became a prominent citizen. Corbin became a justice of the peace in 1657 and represented Lancaster County in the House of Burgesses from 1658 to 1660. In 1663, he was appointed to the Council of the Colony. Corbin married a widow, Alice Burnham (d. 1684) about 1656 or 1657, and they had nine children. Corbin died 8 January 1675, and was buried in Middlesex County, where he lived after it was formed from Lancaster County in 1669.
