Biographical Information

Major General William Booth Taliaferro commanded the 4th Division Virginia Militia stationed in Charlestown, Virginia, after John Brown's Raid on Harper's Ferry.

Scope and Content

The Special Orders were issued by Major General William Booth Taliaferro and his subordinates following John Brown's Raid between November 24 and December 21, 1859. The orders primarily concern supplies and leaves of absence.
