These materials came to the Library of Virginia in a transfer of court papers from Page County.
The Mill Run Alliance No. 22 was organized on February 7, 1888 in the community of Mill Run. It was a subgroup of the Page County Farmers' Alliance whose purpose was to promote the economic and political interests of farmers. Membership in the Mill Run Alliance No. 22 included men and women.
The account book and minute book were used as exhibits in a chancery suit, Stoneburner and Richards and others versus Page County Farmers' Alliance and others, heard in the Circuit Court of Page County during the mid-1890's.

Information found in the minutes includes date of meetings, number and names of members present, brief summaries of committee reports and business discussions, election of individuals applying for membership, election of officers, and lists of male and female members.
