Albemarle County was formed in 1744 from Goochland County. Parts of Louisa County were added in 1761 and 1838.
Deed Books, 1761-1798, of Albemarle County Court. The deed books record the name of the grantor and grantee, the county of residence of both individuals and a description of property being sold or transferred. All of the books have indexes.
