Fincastle County was formed in 1772 from Botetourt County. It became extinct in 1776 when it was divided to form Montgomery, Washington, and Kentucky (now the state of Kentucky) Counties.
Fincastle County (Va.) Summons of James Baber, 1773. Consists of an order to the sheriff of Fincastle County to summon Adam Stearner to appear before the court to answer the petition of William Stroud in the case, Stroud vs. Stearner.
