Walter S. Dunn (b. ca. 1834) married Mary M. Alvis (b. ca. 1836) in Appomattox County, Virginia, 6 February 1856. Dunn was
a superintendent on a canal. He probably died by 1870; in that census, Mary Dunn is listed as living with her parents William
A. and Prudence Alvis.
