Biographical / Historical

Built in 1912, the original Rockingham Memorial Hospital was located at what is now the corner of Mason St. and Grace St. in Harrisonburg. It was adjacent to the campus of the State Normal and Industrial School for Women (now JMU).

Scope and Contents

The collection comprises two blank charts (clinical chart, bedside notes) and five bills for patients Louise Friddle and Donald Bowman. The bills list assorted charges associated with treatment or hospital stays and include board, medicine, dressings, laundry, x-ray services, etc. The blank charts capture information related to a patient's temperature, pulse, stool, urine, medicines, and nourishment.
