Scope and Contents

Civil War letter written from the homefront, Lynchburg, Virginia, 1865, March 26, 0.03 cubic feet, "Jennie C" laments about the recent weather of snow and cold and talks aobut her studies and her love of school. She discusses daily activities and notes that her cousin is " having a gay time, going to parties and balls" in Salisbury, and that her own life is quite dreary lately with bad weather, bad food, and the cruel war.
