William Henry Green was born on October 5, 1852 in Lancaster County, South Carolina to Francis D. Green and Susannah Tirza Brown. He entered VMI in 1870 and resigned in 1873 before receiving a degree. He returned to Lancaster County, where he was a farmer. He married Frederica Rebecca Jones on July 22, 1874 and the couple had seven children (William, Walter, Daniel, F. E., Susan, Nettie, and Mary). Green died of typhoid fever at his home in Lancaster County on November 26, 1891.
This collection consists of an account book owned by William H. Green. The book contains a listing of school expenses incurred while he was a cadet at VMI from 1870 to 1873.
