Stanton Forman Blain was born on July 22, 1902 in Louisville, Kentucky to Jean Throckmorton Forman and Randolph Harrison Blain. He graduated from VMI in June 1923. He subsequently earned his Master's degree at Washington & Lee University. Blain was a Professor of Spanish at VMI for 41 years, retiring in 1964.
Blain married Emma Dorothy Guinn of Rockbridge County, Virginia on December 1, 1923 and the couple had one daughter and one son. He died in Lexington, Virginia on April 14, 1972.
This collection consists of an account book owned by Stanton F. Blain. The book contains a list of school expenses incurred while he was a cadet at VMI from 1919 to 1923.
