Henry Alexander Wise was born in 1906, in Watertown, New York. He graduated VMI in 1927 and went on to become a lawer. He was also a Captain in the United States Army during World War II and a New York state legislator. Wise is the author of the book "Drawing Out the Man: The VMI Story" (University of Virginia Press, 1978). He died in 1982 in Lexington, Virginia.
The Henry A. Wise papers consist of the personal papers of Wise (VMI Class of 1927), including general correspondence, family correspondence, subject files, and materials relating to the publication of his book "Drawing Out the Man: The VMI Story." Inventory is available upon request.
