Thomas Boisseau Booth (1840-1923) attended VMI for three years as a member of the Class of 1860. During the Civil War he served in Company I, 3rd Virginia Cavalry. After the War he was a farmer in Dinwiddie County, Virginia.
This collection (57 items) consists of letters written by Cadet Thomas B. Booth to his future wife, Agnes S. Lyon of Petersburg, Virginia. All of the letters were written from VMI, where Booth was a cadet from 1855 to 1858, and contain largely personal news.
