The diary of Lewis Leonard, written from 1913 to 1918, primarily documents the day-to-day life of its author. Leonard describes social activities, his health and the health of others, clothing, and the weather. However, he also comments upon many of the major events and trends of the time, including Woodrow Wilson's election, declaration of war in Europe, the sinking of the Lusitania , and the suffragette and anarchist movements.
