Bert T. Wilson was born in 1872. He spent most of his life practicing law in and around Tazewell County, Virginia. Wilson died in 1936 at age 64, leaving behind his wife, Nancy Wagoner, and nine children.
The Bert T. Wilson collection consists of letters, legal documents, court proceedings, bills, and receipts pertaining to Bert Wilson's career as an attorney in Lebanon, Virginia. The papers in this collection range from 1903 to 1926. They concern legal cases and claims from many of the prominent businesses and banks in the area at that time, including the John. T. Dixon Lumber Co., the Mathew's Coal Company, and the Daniel Briscol Brothers Company. The collection contains many letters, memos, and documents relating to private court cases as well.
