The collection was purchased as part of lot of the Repass/Spangler Family Correspondence by Special Collections in September 2012. The H. G. Davis Letter did not appear to have a connection to the other two families, so it was removed and processed as a separate collection.
The processing, arrangement, and description of the H. G. Davis Letter was completed in October 2012.
No information on H. G. Davis could be found.
The collection contains a letter written from H. G. Davis to his son on June 19, 1876. The letter apologizes for Davis's inability to visit due to incessant rain. Davis also encourages his son to look into buying a farm, promising him preferential treatment from the seller and offering him advice as to how he could afford it.
