The processing, arrangement, and description of the Civilian Conservation Corps and Family Photograph Collection was completed in September 2013.
The collection includes CCC photographs from camps (at least some are in Virginia), as well as a number of family photographs. Most of the photographs are not identified or dated, though some have notes on the edges. Those items with dates come from the 1920s and 1930s.
Photographs from the CCC camps include barracks, landscapes, and groups and individuals at work and leisure activities. Several photographs are identifed as CCC Camp P-57 in Hot Springs, Virignia; locations around Covington, Virginia; and locations around Bald Knob in West Virginia. The majority of the candid family and individual photographs are unidentified, though some have handwritten notes around the edges.
