There is no further information for W.L.B., he was stationed at Camp Davis at the time of writing the letter. Fannie Merriweather was born June 29, 1844, and married Dr. Henry Sommerville in 1865. She died in 1892.

This collection contains a letter written by a W.L.B. on September 17, 1861, and was addressed to Miss Fannie Merriweather. The letter includes an offer to get married after W.L.B.'s return from the American Civil War, him writing that they will not likey see each other in three years but he would wait for her rejection or acceptance throughout that time. Collection includes a transcript of the letter.
