This collection was acquired by the Special Collections and University Archive in July 2024.
The processing, arrangement, and description of the Illinois Surgical Supply Company Otoscope was completed in June 2025.
The otoscope is housed in a black box with a black plastic button closure. The interior of the box is lined with a green velvet that has ridges to hold various parts of the tool. Inside is seven components of the otoscope. On the interior of the lid of the box is a green ribbon the reads "IMPROVED PREFECTION ELECTRIC AURISCOPE ILLINOIS SURGICAL SUPPLY COMPANY 10 S. WELLS ST. CHICAGO, ILLINOIS." The collection is in fair condition, the lid of the box has detatched and the inner lining is stained/discolored.
