This collection was acquired by the Special Collections and University Archive in July 2021.
The processing, arrangement, and description of the F.F. Carr Medal was completed in June 2025.
The F.F. Carr Medal is housed in a small rectangular green box. Text on the inside lid of the box reads "Club, College and Class Pins and Rings R. HARRIS & CO. COR. 7TH & D.N.W. WASHINGTON D.C. DESIGNERS AND MAKERS OF MEDALS, JEWELS, BADGES, CUPS, ETC. For Prize and Presentation." Inside the box is a keychain, a red, white and blue ribbon attached to a safety pin, and a medal. The keychain has a gold chain with a lobster claw clasp that connects to a ring. A gold charm hangs off the chain with a black and gold "AZ" design. On the back of the charm is the text "F.F. Carr Virginia 10-27-32." The medal is a bronze color with a man running on it. Around the man is the text "VIRGINIA POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE." On the back of the metal it reads ""Shot Put 3rd Annual State Agricultural High School Track Meet Miles Field, Blacksburg, Virginia." The collection is in good condition, minor signs of age.
