The processing, arrangement, and description of the Harper's Weekly Civil War Illustrations was completed in July 2025.
This collection includes six illustrations from the late 1800's from Harpers Weekly. All pages of the papers are individually laminated. The condition is fair, some tears and discoloration.
1) 1851, May 3. Pages 3, "Wendell Phillips," "Thomas Sims, the Slave," and "Anti-Slavery Meeting on the Common [Boston]."
2) 1859, September 24. Pages 207, 208. "Sunday Meeting of Colored People at Chicago," and "Washington's Rock, Somerset County, New Jersey."
3) 1861, June 15. Pages 371, 372. "Company of Secession Cavalry Surrendering to Colonel Wilcox, of the first Michigan Regiment, in Front of the Slave-Pen at Alexandria, Virginia."
4) 1861, December 14. Pages cover, 786. "A Chart Map of "Georgia, showing the Percentage of Slaves in Each County. "
5) 1864, January 23. Pages 51, 52. "Colored Troops, Under General Wild, Liberating Slaves in North Carolina."
