This collection contains a handwritten letter written by John V. Hooff to Stevenson Archer on October 3rd, during an unspecified year. The letter was sent from Charlestown, Jefferson County, Virginia, now located in West Virginia, making the letter pre-date 1861. The letter includes a request for Hooff to be considered for the position of chairman at the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. Original envelope is included.
