Reproduction of nautical map of Europe, dated 1586, and taken from "Spieghel der Leewaert" ("The Mariner's Mirror"), an early book of nautical maps by Dutch cartographer Lucas Janszoon Waghenaer. Brightly colored, with ships and sea monsters pictured. The various countries are identified with heraldic crests.
