The collection includes a number of accessions and groups of records directly from the Office of Facilities Management including publications, administrative records, blueprints, and other documents as well as blueprints and other architectural drawings that come under the administrative responsibility of the office, but may have been transferred from miscellaneous sources.

Acc. 2008.212 was accessioned as part of the backlog in manuscripts in May 2010 and was transferred to this collection in June 2010.

Plans and blueprints that were previously part of the University Archives Subject File Collection were transferred to this collection in November 2010.

Scope and Contents

This series includes a variety of architectural drawings of various formats of College of William and Mary buildings and properties including blueprints, artistic renderings of proposed buildings, and other works loosely classified as drawings. Each item has been assigned an individual accession number to facilitate description and access. Note that some blueprints have been flattened, yet many remained in the rolled state in which they were transferred to the archives.

This series includes printed material classified as publications such as newsletters and brochures. Also included in this series is the sketchbook of Charles M. Robinson Architects of Richmond, Virginia surveying the property of the College of William and Mary between Richmond and Jamestown Roads in 1923. Included in the book are sketches of the historic campus, sewer system drawings, other buildings and athletic fields, and handwritten notes by the architect about the project.
