Biographical Information:

The Reverend Dr. William Archer Rutherfoord Goodwin (June 18, 1869 - September 7, 1939) (or W.A.R. Goodwin as he preferred) was the rector of Bruton Parish Church who began the 20th century effort which resulted in the preservation and restoration of Colonial Williamsburg. Scope and Contents

Letter from William A. R. Goodwin, Wytheville, Virginia to James P. Woods about the death of Maury Coleman and congratulating Woods on his election as Mayor of Roanoke, Virginia.  August 4, 1898.  Includes letter from James P. Woods, Jr. to David Holmes in which he identfies people in the letter and gives biographical information on his Father.  December 18, 1976.
