John and George Humphreys Law Suit Filing, 1866 June, Special Collections Research Center, Swem Library, William and Mary.
Law suit filed in Warren County in the state of Mississippi for the June term of the circuit court in 1866. The plaintiffs of the case were John C. and George Wilson Humphreys. Their complaint was against the company of Wells and Green. Their charge is that an agreement was made in January of 1864 for the sale and delivery of 8,000 cypress logs but that the logs were never delivered. The plaintiffs were seeking damages in the sum of $100,000.00.
