Working files of David Allen Gauthier, former chair of the Republican Party Committee in Newport News, VA, party leader, and avid civic member. Besides the Republican Party Committee, Gauthier was also an alternate delegate to the 1988 Republican National Convention, and first vice chairman of the 1st District Republican Committee in 1995. Gauthier was also an active member of the Hampton Roads Jaycees, Newport News Economic Opportunity Committee, and the American Production and Inventory Control Society. Most of the papers in this collection surround his involvement with the Republican Party in Newport News and the Hampton Roads Jaycees.
