Low resolution images may be made available for public usage online; high resolution images will be retained for archival purposes and for servicing to approved patrons. Interested patrons must seek permission to reproduce/distribute from Alucho. Library staff will put patrons in contact with Alucho; permissions and associated charges will be negotiated and collected by Alucho. After permission is granted, Special Collections staff will assist with the logistics in delivering the high resolution images.
Collection is open to all researchers. Manuscript collections and archival records may contain materials with sensitive or confidential information that is protected under federal or state right to privacy laws and regulations, such as the Virginia Public Records Act (Code of Virginia. § 42.1-76-91); and the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (Code of Virginia § 2.2-3705.5). Acc. 2018.020 includes five Analog posters created by Alejandro Rodriguez Fornes, "Alucho": The Red Panther, Saberes y Expresiones, Una Pelea Cubana Contra Los Demonios, Chivo Que Rompe Tambo, and Casa de las Americas. Acc. 2018.211 includes the following posters also by Alejandro Rodriguez Fornes, "Alucho": The Clash Day, Club de Jazz, Permio de Musicologia, Cuba Mistery: Finding Your Own Whale, and Celia Cruz, Oversea. Acc. 2018.020 and Acc. 2018.218 includes digital forms of many posters already in the collection and the posters that were featured in the Carteles de Alucho exhibit in the Botetourt Gallery. Acc. 2019.113 includes the physical and digital posters Domingo and Ciclo de Pensamento Social Caribeño.
Born in Havana in 1984, Alejandro Rodríguez Fornés "Alucho," is a prolific graphic designer and an important figure in the use of emerging technologies and digital art in Cuban graphic design. He graduated from Havana's Instituto Superior de Diseño in 2008. He has worked as a designer for the magazines Literatura y Arte Unión and La Jiribilla, the publishers Gente Nueva and Abril, and the International School of Film and Television in San Antonio de los Baños, as well as the Cuban Institute of Art and Cinematography. His work has been featured in international festivals in Mexico, Bolivia, Ecuador, Turkey, Spain, and Russia among others, and he has participated in exhibitions in Cuba and abroad. In 2014, he won the Bronze Medal at the 13th biennial International Poster Festival in Mexico. He is a member of the National Union of Writers and Authors of Cuba (UNEAC) and currently works in the office of Images and Communication at the Casa de las Américas.

Graphic art posters in physical and digital form by Alejandro Rodríguez Fornés, known as Alucho. The theme of the posters is primarily film-related and include commemorative posters for Cuban films and or for film festivals. Many are signed by the artist.
The collection is arranged into series by year and then listed alphabetically.
Preservation copies of digital materials are TIFs. Most digital posters may be accessed via Omeka, and high resolution versions can be viewed in the reading room. At least 72 hours advanced notice required for access of high resolution versions and other digital posters.

The first is a predomantly orange mosquito-like design with a series number of XIV/XXV and a penciled number on the back that reads 4082-04tj.
The second poster is the same design with a flyswatter imposed on top in purple and orange. The second poster has series number 37/50, and has an inscription in the bottom right reading "Sean Waple Seattle, WA." The number 4082-04e5 on the back.
