Harry Flood Byrd, Senior was born in Martinsburg, West Virginia on June 10th, 1887. He was a member of the Virgnina Senate from 1916 until 1926, becoming the 50th Governor of Virginia from 1926-1930. Byrd also served as a United States Senator from Virginia from 1933 to 1965, before he died on October 20th, 1966.
Two letters from Harry F. Byrd, Sr. to A.A. Watters, Jr. in regards to proposed tax reforms. The first letter is dated March 5, 1963 and details Byrd's desires to implement tax laws. The second letters is dated April 29, 1963 and expresses Byrd's thanks to Watters, Jr.
