Collection is open to all researchers. Manuscript collections and archival records may contain materials with sensitive or confidential information that is protected under federal or state right to privacy laws and regulations, such as the Virginia Public Records Act (Code of Virginia. § 42.1-76-91); and the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (Code of Virginia § 2.2-3705.5). Chinese Student Organization (CSO) records, Special Collection Research Center, William & Mary Libraries.
The Chinese Student Organization (CSO) is a William & Mary organization whose main objective is to create an academic and interactive social environment to provide a setting for Chinese students and students interested in Chinese culture to engage and share their cultural experiences. They work with college administration, other William & Mary student organizations, CSO alumni, and Chinese student organizations at other universities. CSO showcases Chinese culture and tradition through campus-wide shows during the Harvest Moon Festival and the Lunar New Year. Other events and activities include IM sports, formals, campus-wide fundraising events such as dumpling sales, and trips to Virginia Beach for dim sum.
The collection includes materials that document the activities of the Chinese Student Organization (CSO). Materials include items such as scrapbooks.
The collection is arranged by accession with accruals expected.
