Abstract
The Veterans of World War II papers were compiled by West Virginia University Professors J.C. Easton of the Department of
History, C.R. Bishop of the Department of English, and West Liberty State College Professor Regier during the immediate post-war
years (1946-1948). Students who had served during World War II were requested to write papers regarding their experiences
in the armed services. There are approximately 1,400 reports, and they are filed in alphabetical order by author. The reports
document experiences from many theaters of war, including Asia, Europe, North Africa, the Mediterranean, Panama, Alaska, Pacific
islands, and the high seas. They contain descriptions of camp life, battle, and life as a prisoner or prison guard. Some accounts
are illustrated with pictures, photographs, and drawings.
