Abstract
Microfilm copy of the original journal of Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon, surveyors appointed to determine the boundary
between Pennsylvania and Maryland and resolve a border dispute between those two colonies. Named after its surveyors, the
Mason-Dixon Line is also associated with the division between northern free states and southern slave states during the nineteenth
century. Field notes describe the progress of the survey and include mathematical and astronomical data.
