Abstract

The Morgantown Defense Council was established in Monongalia County, West Virginia, in 1941 to coordinate local agencies and bring resources together to solve the municipal issues facing the city. Mimeograph letters and minutes of the executive committee of the Morgantown Defense Council from 1941 document these concerns. Topics include the formation of the council; public works; the planning commission; the consolidation of suburban municipalities; housing; and the coal industry. Letters also list council members.
