Abstract
Jesse Arnot, The Last Mile of Abraham Lincoln, by Armand A. Beard, narrates the life of Jesse Arnot, who was born in Monroe
County, Virginia. He moved to St. Louis, Missouri and rose to local prominence as owner of a large livery company whose hearse
carried Abraham Lincoln's coffin to the Springfield cemetery.
